History

Kasetsart University was founded in 1943 to provide higher education.  It provides service in scientifically solving societal problems, as one of the important functions of the university.  The univeristy is the key provider of knowledge needed for the national development.  This knowledge needs to be disseminated and promoted to benefit the community and the society. Knowledge dissemination and promotion to the public come in different forms and should continually be made available.  However, there is no agency directly responsible for this function that in 1959 Kasetsart University established  an internal unit called the Office of Agricultural Extension and Promotion tasked of providing community service.

In 1970, a ministerial order led to the establishement of the Extension and Training Office, an agency comparable to an education Faculty tasked of solving societal problem.

The Agricultural Extension and Promotion Office has five operational divisions or units such as:
  1. Administrative Division/Unit
  2. Academic/Education and and Research
  3. Promotion and Extension
  4. Media
  5. Radio Station, Kasetsart University.
